Bakes of Christmas #8

Number 8 is Chocolate tiffin! I'm making this as little Christmas presents for my friends but you could use them as thank you's, Christmas treats, or party food! Almost the big day! Are you exited yet? Only 5 sleeps! xxxx

Much love Alex-Rose xxxxx

Chocolate Tiffin- Adapted from recipe at Sanna's Kitchen (blog)

Ingredients:

  • 200 g digestive biscuits
  • 100 g butter
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 2 Mars Bars
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 50 g raisins (optional)
  • Malteasers (optional but tasty, as many as you feel necessary)
  • 1 Large bar of Cadbury's whole nut Chocolate (the nuts add an extra layer of flavour and texture)

Line a brownie tin with greaseproof paper. Put all the biscuits into a plastic bag and bash with a rolling pin (or something similar  into large uneven crumbs. Chop the Mars bars into small pieces and put into a glass bowl with the butter and syrup. Next melt the Mars bars, butter and syrup in a pan, it is OK if the Mars bars don't melt entirely to liquid, a few whole pieces don't matter. Take the bowl off the heat and stir in the cocoa powder, Malteasers and the raisins, and finally the biscuit crumbs. Mix well, the spoon into the  tin and press down firmly. Place into the fridge, now melt the chocolate before pouring over the tiffin and leaving to cool until firm in the fridge. Enjoy! xxx
